Antalaha , pronounced Antala (the last laugh is silent), is a coastal town in northern north east of Magagascar. The town is know for being the vanilla producing capital of Madagascar in . The scent is intense and wonderful!A long beautiful beach and sometimes huge waves is part of the disctrict scenery. The area is regularly affected by the same namecyclones and in 2004 and in 2007, part virtually all its vanilla crops and much of the Sava Region in the Antsiranana Provincetown was destroyed but this is a town that always seems to rebuild itself. <!--The population of the town and district of Antalaha was estimated in 2001 at 75,000.-->
Antalaha has an airport which serviced by [[Air Madagascar]] <!-- how often do planes land?-->. The town can also be reached by road from [[Sambava]] which takes about 1½ hours.
