There is no hotel accommodation shortly before the park entrance except a basic lodge in Mandena. Usually, visitors arrive in the morning hours from Sambava, which is about one hour and 45 minutes by private car hire or two and a half hours by Taxi-brousse. The distance from Sambava is 65 km. Marojejy visitors often stay at the [[Mimi Hotel]] in Sambava where the tourist office is also located and where tours and park tickets as well as guides can be arranged. Take-away lunch packs with pastries from Mimi's restaurant and pâtisserie can be prepared for guests on their journey ahead.<!--The menu offerings in the camp kitchens are fresh but usually simple pasta, rice, chicken etc.-->

Depending on the weather, the best period to visit Marojejy is between March and December. During the rainy period, the park is mostly closed. Tours can be booked via specialised tour operators including flights from the capital. <!--For example, XXX in the US, XXX in the UK and XXX in France.-->

Alternatively, contact the local Marojejy Guides Association. Its members are all certified. Dealing directly with the local guides may offer the best value for both visitors and the guides. Even among visitors who don't know it, simply visiting the park fosters a mutually beneficial relationship between nature and the local communities.

Most guides, all porters, cooks, forest guards and those maintaining the trail are from the local communities.

The employment opportunities in guiding visitors help preserve the park as the local population will depend more on ecotourism than farming alone, having clearing land and other natural resources.
