Ankavandra is a town and area in the Miandrivazo district in the [[Tulear]]
province of Madagasar. In 2001 the population was approximately 11,000. The town
itself currently has an estimated population of 5,000.

Ankavandra lies on the Manambolo river and is a starting point for various river tours.

About 50% of the population make their living from fishing, while 25% are farmers and 20% live from rasing
[[zebu]] and other lifestock. Acriculture and crops include rice, cassava and sugarcane.

A local airport is serviced by Air Madagascar.
