The hotel guest house is named after the many huge Jacarandi trees which grow around the lake and in the presidential garden. Throughout October and November the trees bloom in bright purple colour.
The rooms of the informal hotel are clean and well-kept, with single or double beds, a desk and a television. Some rooms have private bathroom/WC, others shared toilet and shower. A double room costs between 39.000 and 52.000 Ariary. A community area with a big table and chairs on the second floor is popular for meeting other guests, exchanging travel experiences and consuming breakfast and dinner.
Tana Jacaranda offers free Wifi, a laundry service and pick-ups from/to the airport (20.000 Ariary at daytime, 30.000 Ariary at nighttime). The owner Noro, her family and all the staff members are very friendly and helpful in giving advice about what to do and see in Tana and its surrounding area.
