Villages before Ofaina along the river are [[Masovariaka]], Ambodimanga, [[Ampatakana ]] and Ambodiala. Marojejy can be seen to the west from the elevated parts of the route and the Indian Ocean towards the east. There is a good swimming spot between Masovariaka and Farahalana.
