Villages before Ofaina along the river are Masovariaka, Ambodimanga, Ampatakana and Ambodiala. Marojejy can be seen to the west from the elevated parts of the route and the Indian Ocean towards the westeast. There is a good swimming stop Masovariaka and Farahalana.
