Nosy Ankarea is surrounded by some beautiful beaches and home to many succulent plants. The island's forest is relatively untouched due to various [[fady|fadys]]. From the peak of the highest mountain (219 metres) one has a spectacular view over the Mitsio Archipelago and surrounding reefs.
