Brickaville, officially named Ampasimanolotra, although everyone refer to its old name of Brickavilla, is located on the rout between Antananarivo (225km from) and Tamatave (134km). Brickaville is an agricultural town with plenty of fruit and vegetable to be found. Even mangosteen (an unusual exotic friot) ia availavble here. An important crop is sugar. The area was once a cocoa producing region, before the cocoa plantations moved to Ambanja region in the northwest of the country.
