Arivonimamo

Arivonimamo (or Arivonimamy) is a town of about 10,000 people, with about 22,000 people in the entire district. The town is located about 40km west of Antananarivo along the RN1 national route. Madagascar's international airport was once located in Arivonimamo until it was replaced by Ivato international airport in 1967. The old airport lies about 3km from town and now serves the international stand-by airport.
