Tana Jacaranda

Tana Jacaranda is a guest house and small hotel in the centre of Antananarivo overlooking the backyard of the presidential palace. The Rova of Antananarivo (the former Queen's Palace) and the Andafiavaratra Palace can be seen in the distance from the top floor balcony.

The hotel is named after the many huge Jacarandi trees which grow around the lake and in the presidential garden. Throughout October and November the trees bloom in bright purple colour.

The rooms of the informal hotel are clean and well-kept, with single or double beds, a desk and a television. Some rooms have private bathroom/WC, others shared toilet and shower. A community area with a big table and chairs on the second floor is popular for meeting other guests, exchanging travel experiences and consuming breakfast and dinner.

Tana Jacaranda offers free Wifi, a laundry service and pick-ups from/to the airport (20.000 Ariary at daytime, 30.000 Ariary at nighttime). The owner Noro, her family and all the staff members are very friendly and helpful in giving advice about what to do and see in Tana and its surrounding area.
