The guest house is named after the many huge Jacarandi large [[Jacaranda tree|Jacaranda trees ]] which grow around the lake and in the presidential garden. Throughout October and November the trees bloom in bright purple colour.
The rooms of the informal hotel are clean and well-kept, with single or double beds, a desk and a television. Some rooms have private bathroom/WC, others shared toilet and shower. A double room costs between 39.,000 and 52.,000 Ariary. A community shared area with a big large table and chairs on the second floor is popular for meeting other guests, exchanging travel experiences and consuming having breakfast and dinner.
Tana Jacaranda offers free Wifi, a laundry service and pick-ups transfer from/to the airport (20.,000 Ariary at daytime, 30.,000 Ariary at nighttime).
