Many lakes with crocodiles are considered sacred throughout Madagascar. The crocodiles are believed to be humans which out of wrong behaviour turned into crocodiles. An example of such a sacred lake is [[Lake Ravelobe|Lac Ravelobe]] located in the [[Ankarafantsika National Park]].
