Tana Jacaranda is an informal guest house in the centre of Antananarivo overlooking the backyard of the Presidential Palace. The Rova of Antananarivo (the former Queen's Palace) and the Andafiavaratra Palace can be seen in the distance from the top-floor balcony.

The guest house is named after the many large Jacaranda trees which grow around the Lake Anosy and in the presidential garden. Throughout October and November the trees bloom in bright purple colour.

The rooms are clean and well-kept, with single or double beds, a desk and a television. Some rooms have private bathroom/WC, others shared toilet and shower. A double room costs between 39,000 and 52,000 Ariary. A shared area with a large table and chairs on the second floor is popular for meeting other guests, exchanging travel experiences and having breakfast and dinner.

Tana Jacaranda offers free Wifi, a laundry service and transfer from/to the airport (20,000 Ariary at daytime, 30,000 Ariary at nighttime). The owners Noro and her family as well as all the staff members are very friendly and helpful in giving advice about what to do and see in Tana and its surrounding area.

The panoramic view from the top-floor balcony at Tana Jacaranda with the Andafiavaratra Palace visible to the left and the Manjakamiadana Palace, also known as the Rova or the Queen's Palace, visible to the right.
