Tana Jacaranda is an informal guest house in the centre of Antananarivo overlooking the backyard of the Presidential Palace. The guest house is named after the many large Jacaranda trees which grow around the lake Lake Anosy and in the presidential garden. Throughout October and November the trees bloom in bright purple colour.
The rooms are clean and well-kept, with single or double beds, a desk and a television. Some rooms have private bathroom/WC, others shared toilet and shower. A double room costs between 39,000 and 52,000 Ariary. A shared area with a large table and chairs on the second floor is popular for meeting other guests, exchanging travel experiences and having breakfast and dinner.
