JOSEPH RAMANANDRAIBE GROUP

The Joseph RAMANANDRAIBE Group founded in 1927 is now in its third generation. Joseph RAMANANDRAIBE (1900 - 1973) was merchant as well as a leader of the Protestant Church in Madagascar for many years assuming the role of Treasurer for the "Isan'Enimbolan'Imerina", the Protestant organization whose missionaries as done much work to convert the population of coastal areas in Madagascar into Evangelism. While the estate left by Mr. Joseph RAMANANDRAIBE was primarily real estate, the second generation had already made a breakthrough in industry (the Malagasy company Hedges, Chocolaterie Robert) but was primarily trading in major exports, such as coffee, vanilla, cloves, spices, essential oils etc. RAMANANDRAIBE EXPORT collected and exported these products through 10 agencies spread along the Malagasy coast. Today, the third generation has returned to the land of planting cacao, ylang-ylang and the cultivation of vegetables for export etc. The entire Group led by Joseph RAMANANDRAIBE is now chaired by Marcel RAMANANDRAIBE.
