The Joseph Ramanandraibe Group (founded in 1927) is now in its third generation.
Joseph Ramanandraibe (1900-1973) was merchant and a leading figure of the Protestant Church in Madagascar, for which he served many years as Treasurer for the "Isan'Enimbolan'Imerina", the institution within the Church which organised the evangelisation of coastal provices through its missionaries.
While the patrimony left behind by Mr. Joseph RAMANANDRAIBE was primarily real estate, the second generation had already made a breakthrough in industry (the Société Malgache de Couvertures, Chocolaterie Robert), though its main business was trading major exports, such as coffee, vanilla, clove, spices, essential oils etc.
Ramanandraibe Exportation collected and exported its products through 10 agencies located along the coastal areas of Madagascar.
