Cotisse Transport

Cotisse Transport is a scheduled taxi service offering transport between Antananarivo and Toamasina, Mahajanga, Morondava, Fianaratsoa abd Diégo-Suarez.

Cotisse Transport was established in 2013. The company's vehicles are a comfortable alternative to the usually crowded taxi-brousse. The cars leave on time and the drivers drive carefully without speeding. There are four different transport classes available. As an extra there is free Wifi on board of every bus.

It is possible to reserve a seat, tickets however must be obtained before departure. They can either be paid on location or via mobile bank transfer. The office and bus station in Antananarivo is located at the northern taxi-brousse station Ambodivona.

Cotisse Transport Antananarivo

The travel from Antananarivo to Toamasina (or Tamatave) takes about 6.5 hours. Cars leave at 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am, 12 noon, 7pm and 8:30pm. The price for a seat is 20,000 Ariary (2016).

What to do whilst waiting in Antananarivo

Restaurant Ranjatiana
Just on top of the small patisserie on the left to the Cotisse office is the excellent Ranjatiana restaurant. The restaurant with the very clean open kitchen offers a large variety of meals, from traditional Malagasy food to European and Chinese meals. The sandwiches are ideal to take with you on the bus. At the well stocked bar is a TV and Wifi is available for free.

Le Restaurant Taxi-Brousse
Restaurant and hotel just a couple of metres from the Cotisse station. The restaurant is open daily from 5.30am till 9pm and serves beside breakfast also very basic Malagasy meals. For those who arrive at night rooms are available as well.

Stop enroute Antananarivo - Toamasina

After an about 3.5 hours drive the car stops at the turning to Andasibe. There are many small restaurants along the road, especially set up for bypassing travellers.
