The village has two small shops. A shaded resting area next to the trail running through the village provides snacks, drinks and tea. The owner often plays Malagasy music aloud, powered by solar panels behind the house.

There is no official accommodation available in the village, but it is possible to rent a hut (below) from one the families living in Beangona. In 2016 the price for a night was 10,000 Ariary.

Beangona has a first-aid station at the western end of the village. It is run by Dr. Flavien and his wife Stella (+261 (0)34 2827642), who works as a midwife on location.
