Ambanja is a city in the north of Madagascar within the disctrict of Ambanja. The population is approximately 30,000. The city is located along a river. Ambanja is enroute Noys Be and 25 km from Ankify harbour, where boats to Nosy Be departs at least once a day.
There is a harbour and an airport serviced by Air Madagascar.
