Beangona
Beangona is a small village located along the Sambirano River on the outskirts of the Tsaratanana Massif in the northwest of Madagascar.
The village has two small shops. A shaded resting area next to the trail running through the village provides snacks, drinks and tea. Often the owner plays loud Malagasy music powered by his solar pannels behind the house.
There is no official accommodation available in the village, but it is possible to rent a small hut from one the families living in Beangona. In 2016 the price for a night was 10,000 Ariary.
Beangona has a first-aid station at the western end of the village. It is run by Dr. Flavien and his wife Stella (+261 (0)34 2827642), who works at a midwife on location.
At the southern end of the village is a brickyard.
